Franklyn Scholar
Ryan Trainor, former Managing Director of Franklyn Scholar motivated his team Australia-wide to support the company’s goal of establishing vocational training at the Jhag Children’s Village as part of its “Footprint” initiative. Damian Moloney, CEO of Franklyn Scholar and Victoria Woodfall from the Hobart office are spearheading the project. Each of their eight offices around Australia has a team of volunteers, led by a Footprint Champion. Their goal is to raise awareness and also funds to build the centre which will offer a variety of courses.
Vocational training will provide the women and youth of Jhag and surrounding villages with valuable skills that will enable them to participate in the local economy.
For more information about Franklyn Scholar’s activities, please visit the Franklyn Scholar tab. |

Environmental Partnership (NSW) Pty Ltd
It was a wonderful day when we received an offer from Belinda Graham from Environmental Partnership. She was due to
travel to India for an Environmental Partnership project and she offered to visit the Jhag Children’s Village with the aim of developing a landscaping design to enhance the environment for the children.
She has since developed a very exciting, innovative and clever design based on traditional village life concepts, which we are
very keen to bring to fruition. For this we require experienced landscapers who can plot the land, help source the materials and mobilise the local workforce. To view Belinda’s design, please CLICK HERE.
Belinda Graham and Adam Hunter are on board to provide ongoing advice. Their work experience in India makes them an extremely valuable resource. Their warm generosity towards people who are disadvantaged due to poverty make them
the most wonderful people to work with!
Thank you for contributing in such an important way to our project. |

Vishwaas Foundation - Vision on a Mission!
On 13th December 2010, 18 members of Vishwaas Foundation embarked on a 15 day journey across India, visiting rural hospitals and schools from the South to the North, including I-India on the 21st to 24th December. They generously donated greatly needed resources to Prem Pathshala, including 10 bicycles, a digital projector, and a PA system. The digital projector was particularly appreciated in June 2011 when 117 young boys that had been rescued from exploitation as child labourers and were cared for by I-India until they could be reunited with their families. It was a special treat to watch a film on the equipment provided by the Foundation. Our sincere thanks to all members who participated, and all those who contributed towards the cost of these wonderful gifts. |

A total of $2326 was raised which will be directed towards purchasing a much needed vehicle for Prem Pathshala. We thank all those who contributed so generously, but special thanks go to Hilary, Matthew, Megan and Graeme Bingham Chris and Ginie Udy for organizing the special day. |

Mount Stuart Primary School
Headed by teacher Chris Haas, Mount Stuart Primary School has held two major fundraising “Bollywood” events, raising $3456 to buy a huge and exciting range of educational toys and teaching resources, which has enriched the learning life of the disadvantaged children who attend Prem Pathshala. The equipment was purchased at very special prices from Modern Teaching Aids, kindly arranged by Neville Dykes.
The school also raised $3353 to buy ten new computers with flat screen monitors for the school’s computer room. Of course this cutting edge technology was only the stuff of dreams before then. The computer skills that the children are developing are only possible because of Mount Stuart’s children, parents and community.
Mount Stuart is a sister school to Prem Pathshala. We hope that Chris Haas will be able to visit the project again, now that it is a vibrant place rather than a building site as it was when she visited with her husband back in February 2009. |

Burwood Girls’ High School, Sydney
Burwood Girls’ High School's motto is "Not For Ourselves Alone" and the generosity of the school bears that out. Principal, Mia Kumar and Head Teacher of Social Sciences, Patrice Simpson, teachers, students and the school community have raised a total of $5050!
The school’s annual International Day this year celebrated on the 24th March. It is a special day when the school reflects and celebrates the cultural diversity of the school’s community, encouraging the girls to be proud of their cultural heritage. Funds were raised through international food stalls and other initiatives. I-India is extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the school.
