I-India Project Australia’s goal is to construct “Jhag Children’s Village” in aid of destitute street children. The centre is managed by our experienced partner, Indian NGO I-India, and will include a comprehensive system of services designed to provide disadvantaged and abused children with care, education and vocational training. By providing skills and opportunities, the centre will allow children to escape the poverty cycle through their own initiative and lead independent and productive lives within their own community. In particular we aim to promote the empowerment, equality and fair treatment of women and girls so they can enjoy a better standard of living. Construction of the residential and educational facility will provide the opportunity for local workers to gain experience and expertise in the construction field, and help reduce poverty by stimulating the local economy.
The purpose of I-India Project Australia is to promote understanding and awareness in the Australian community of the cultural conditions and customs that result in large-scale deprivation and suffering. We aim to foster a spirit of generosity and concern for the welfare of others less fortunate than ourselves.
